What does sherlock wear

Holmes was well aware of the power of clothing to reveal as well as transform. Clothing, by extension, could do the same—a perfectly reasonable assumption at a time when read-to-wear was in its infancy and those who could afford to still had their clothes custom-made. No scuffed shoe or scratched pocketwatch escaped his notice; the smallest sartorial detail could be the key to solving a case.

Miller like Downey is more of a Watson than a Sherlock—compact and muscular rather than tall and lanky. It follows, then, that his clothes also break the mold. Mister Antony is also one of the few business that makes and supplies traditional wool and Harris Tweed Inverness capes to "professional, discerning" customers.

The patterns on offer include stony blue fleck, grey herringbone and brown and tan houndstooth. Antony Mistofsky, who has run the firm for 32 years and whose family has been making waterproof clothing for more than years, said the custom-made items represented "a specialised, niche market". He said: "It would be fair to say that they are not a big selling item. Mr Mistofsky added: "We export them all over the world. A few of those buying the woollen capes also have a keen interest in Sherlock Holmes, he said.

Other Inverness Cape enthusiasts include fans of steampunk, a genre that mixes Victorian-style clothing with science-fiction technology and draws inspiration from writers such as HG Wells. Various online retailers offer the capes in colours suited to steampunk aficionados. It features displays of Conan Doyle manuscripts, copies of The Strand and some of the 27 surviving original drawings Paget did for the magazine stories.

However, even Arthur was forced to pick up a few cheaper pairs from Poste as Benedict kept wearing the original pair out in filming. This is one bit of luxury all Sherlock fans should have, perfect for sleuthing round the house in on a rainy Sunday afternoon. This Woburn one featured in a brief flash back in the Sign of Three episode.

Poppy Logo. Things in the business can be so chaotic - particularly when it gets dark early and people drop things from trailers! That scarf was the bane of my life! If I did another series, I wouldn't use that scarf again - I'd definitely do something new! Not really - the only one I would have possibly put tweed on was Martin, but that seemed almost too obvious. We did have a tweed jacket but we didn't go there - we stuck with what we were doing.

They were from Paul Smith, two-tone black and grey. Benedict said to me one day "Something is happening to my gloves Sarah, they've gone a funny colour! They took a hammering too. We had a few comments from Twitter about the expense of Sherlock's wardrobe. Are there more affordable options? There always are affordable ways! I did the first series of Footballers Wives when no one knew what it was. Everything had to be put together - we had to do high fashion on peanuts.

What I do is mix and match. I go to TK Maxx where you can pick up very high quality, interesting menswear. It's not designer. There will have been in the costumes bits and pieces that came from the high street.

Unfortunately Martin's jacket will be expensive because of the detailing. But you will find similar things. And I have no doubt that you will find a coat similar to Benedict's. It will be copied - somewhere like Zara will definitely have picked it up.

It's all very military now, so there's bound to be something similar. God, now you're asking! Matt Smith - I like the tweed and bow ties.

But I can't say I've seen anything of late that I've thought was that fantastic. I did a lot of designs for that and made suits for him because he had to get fat and dresses for her. That is coming out in December. Very hard work, but they're lovely jobs to do when people are nice. I am not sure whether I am doing it at the moment.
