When they are discovered just before dawn, he knocks Admer Nem down, sending his lantern flying into the straw and starting a fire.

He also steals a purse full of money and then gets away in the confusion with the horses, leaving Siuan, Leane and Min on foot and to face the justice of Gareth Bryne , the lord of Kore Springs TFoH, Ch. As Siuan, Leane and Min are being taken to Gareth Bryne's manor to work off the debt that they have incurred, Logain appears and knocks out the man driving the cart they are in. He asks them if they thought that he would leave them to their fate, and then tells Siuan that she made promises to him, and he wants the revenge that she promised.

He warns her that her time is growing short, and that she must deliver on her promises soon or he will leave them to find their own way. He claims that he and the sword that he carries have kept them safe from people who might take advantage of them.

Min sees the halo that signifies glory once again. Logain then shows them the purse that he stole from Admer Nem, but will not give it to Siuan, claiming that if he keeps it, perhaps he can be sure the women won't abandon him TFoH, Ch.

Logain, Siuan, Leane and Min continue to travel. Siuan lets Logain pretend that he is in charge, deciding when they leave each morning and where they stop at night. He keeps the money, and expects the three women to cook and serve his meals. Siuan does not mind, because she has big plans for him TFoH, Ch. They plan to stay at an inn named The Nine Horse Hitch. Logain goes to bargain with the stableman; when Siuan goes into another inn to speak with a woman who is a member of the Blue Ajah 's eyes-and-ears network, she instructs Leane to practice her wiles on Logain.

Leane flirts with Logain and other men at the inn, and there is nearly a riot over her. While Siuan is speaking to Duranda Tharne , Min watches as Leane continues to flirt with Logain and with other men at the inn; Logain is wearing a disgruntled frown while the other man hang onto Leane's every word.

The halo of greatness appears more and more often, though Min cannot understand why, because Logain is becoming more and more depressed. For the past six days, he has not even seemed to have the energy to care where they are going any more. Leane has been paying a lot of attention to him since the morning when they had to force him to get out of his blankets, but Logain does not react to her TFoH, Ch.

Min and Leane guide Logain to the door while Siuan enters ahead of them. The Aes Sedai are not very pleased to see Logain, and the Warders watch him closely, though he does not appear to notice them.

Min leads him to a table and they sit down to wait. Edesina Azzedin approaches them and lays a hand upon Logain's head, and then declares that his gentling has caught up with him and that he has given up on wanting to live; there is nothing that she can do for him TFoH, Ch.

When Siuan is finished being interrogated by the Aes Sedai, she tells Min to watch Logain and not to let anyone speak with him. Min relays to Logain that Siuan wishes for him not to speak with anyone, and Logain replies that no one wishes to speak with him anyway TFoH, Ch.

Nynaeve spends time with Logain studying his gentling. He is more cooperative and more eager about it than either Siuan or Leane and he also understands about keeping it a secret. Every week or so, a noble from Altara or Murandy shows up in Salidar to hear Logain relate the tale of the Red Ajah setting him up as a false Dragon.

They all leave looking shocked by what he has said LoC, Ch. Lelaine Akashi and her Warder, Burin Shaeren watch over him. Nynaeve notices that he seems to flourish under the attention, and that the promise of revenge against the Red Ajah has put a light into his eyes. One of the nobles is worried that Logain's followers will join together in support of him once again, but Lelaine assures them that there is no worry of that LoC, Ch. While Tarna Feir , Elaida 's emissary to the rebels, is in Salidar, Logain is safely tucked away in one of the soldiers' camps.

He is smoking a pipe and reading by a window when they find him. Nynaeve begins to study Logain with saidar and, very surprisingly and unexpectedly, actually manages to Heal him of gentling. Nynaeve sends Elayne to find Sheriam immediately, and stays with Logain, shielding him. Logain tests her shield, and she notices that his eye seem to shine. She uses flows of air to fasten him to his chair. He talks to her a bit, about the fact that she needn't shield him because he wouldn't attack a village full of Aes Sedai, and that they are succeeding in what he wants anyway with the Red Ajah, and also makes a comment about the first time he saw Rand.

Nynaeve gags him with another flow of air. Aes Sedai file into the house, and Nynaeve's anger disappears, therefore causing her shield and bonds of air to disappear as well. However, they agree to shield him just in case LoC, Ch. After it has been established that Logain has indeed been Healed, Nisao wants to have him gentled again, but Carlinya argues that they cannot ethically do that, since they support Rand, another man who can channel. Later, six sisters stay with him to shield him.

He tries to escape, but they manage to hold the shield LoC, Ch. Sixteen days after leaving Salidar, Egwene visits the tent that Logain is staying in and asks him what he thinks of Rand's amnesty for men who can channel. Logain replies that he wishes he were with Rand now, and is angry that although he has done everything the Aes Sedai have asked, they are still thinking of gentling or killing him.

Egwene informs him that she will never harm him or allow those who follow her to harm him, and tells him that she will return in a day or two to speak about the amnesty again, once he has calmed down LoC, Ch. Egwene and Siuan arrange for the Aes Sedai shielding Logain to be brought tea with forkroot in it so that Logain can escape from the rebel camp and join Rand. Egwene instructs Siuan to make sure that he doesn't hurt anyone as he leaves LoC, Ch.

There is no relevant reference to Logain in this book. Logain leads the capture of Toveine and the sisters she has brought to defeat the Black Tower. He captures Toveine, who fights against him, and tries to calm her down.

Finally he resorts to kissing her to make her stay still, and bonds her. When Logain tells her what he has done, Toveine breaks down and weeps against his shoulder. Logain finds the lapdesk that Toveine lost during the attack. Inside are included the orders from Elaida about what is to be done to the men found at the Black Tower. She sees his shoulders slumped and a drooping, sad face as he lumbers around accompanied by the Accepted.

However, she sees a viewing of him with a halo of gold and blue above his head, which she knows means glory to come in the future for Logain. However, he is unable to leave the city as the bridges were ordered to be guarded against anyone leaving. As Min, Leane, and Siuan move to leave the city, they run into Logain. He tells them that he cannot leave the city. Siuan tells him that if he agrees to follow her, not only will she get him out of Tar Valon, but she can help him get revenge on the Red Ajah that Gentled him.

He agrees to accompany them and Min again sees the gold and blue aura above his head signifying glory to come. They escape Tar Valon together. As they travel, they decide to go by different names to conceal their identities. Logain wants to go by Guaire, a past False Dragon, but Siuan convinces him to not go by such an attention-grabbing name and he agrees to go by the name Dalyn. Logain gambles at dice in an inn and wins some money which enables him to buy a new coat, a sword, and a horse. In the morning, the group is discovered by Admer and Logain confronts him, knocking him down and causing his lantern to fall into the hay in the barn, setting it ablaze.

He also steals a coin pouch from Admer and takes the horses, leaving Leane, Min, and Siuan to be captured and taken in front of the local Lord for justice. He seems surprised that the women thought that he would leave them and reminds Siuan that she made promises to him about the Red Ajah and his revenge and he intends to stay to make sure he achieves it, but he also warns her that time is running out and that if she cannot deliver on her promise soon, that he will leave them to their own devices.

He tells them that his sword has protected them from people trying to take advantage of them on their journey. He also shows them the coin pouch he stole from Admer, but he refuses to give it to Siuan. He believes that by holding on to the money that they will not send him away. Logain begins to try and wrestle control of the group away from Siuan.

He has the women cook his meals and serve them to him. Siuan allows this because she has big plans for Logain. She tells Leane to practice flirting with Logain and she flirts with him as well as the rest of the patrons of the Nine Horse Hitch Inn. Many of the men are completely enthralled with Leane, but Logain is frowning much of the time.

After Siuan discovers that Salidar is their destination, they travel south for roughly 15 days. Logain begins to appear more and more depressed during this time. Leane attempts to shower him with attention and flirting, but he is completely uninterested. The effect of his Gentling is beginning to affect him greatly, however, Min sees the halo surrounding Logain more and more, which confuses her. When they arrive in Salidar, they are taken to the Little Tower and Logain is watched by the Warders, although he appears to not even notice them, his depression truly taking hold.

An Aes Sedai, Edesina Azzedin attempts to heal him, but tells Min that there is nothing to heal and that his Gentling has caught up with him and he has no desire to continue living. Siuan reveals her plan for his revenge on the Red Ajah is to have Logain tell everyone that the Red Ajah set him up to be a False Dragon and then brought him down.

She tells the Aes Sedai in the camp of this and reveals to Logain that this is the story he will need to tell. She has no real interest in Healing him, but Siuan and Leane resist being studied by Nyneave. Nyneave believes that Logain is more open to the study because he believes that Nyneave will eventually Heal him. Logain is kept captive and under guard in Salidar. Logain seems to delight in the attention and the depression seems to leave him as he sees this as revenge upon the Red Ajah.

While talking with Elayne and studying Logain, she manages to actually restore his ability to channel. She immediately shields him and sends Elayne to get Sheriam. She ties him to his chair with flows of air. He also tells her that they are giving him what he wants, revenge on the Red Ajah.

He also tells Nyneave of the first time he saw Rand in the streets of Caemlyn. When the Aes Sedai arrive, they do not believe that Nyneave restored his ability to channel. He tells them that she did not, trying to get them to not believe Nyneave, but they agree to continue shielding him just in case. Later it is determined that has actually been healed. They have six Aes Sedai shield Logain and keep him captive, however.

They also stop bringing nobles to see him after his healing. Logain gets very angry with her and says that he wishes he was with Rand right now because despite him doing everything the Aes Sedai have asked, they are still considering killing him or Gentling him again. Egwene attempts to reassure him that she will not allow anything to happen to him as far as she can, but leaves and tells him that she will return when he has calmed down. Egwene and Siuan arrange for the Aes Sedai shielding Logain to be brought forkroot tea so Logain can escape the camp and join Rand.

A Crown of Swords. Logain personally captures Toveine, a Red, and she fights against him as he tries to calm her. He kisses her, which is actually the way that they have learned to bond women to them with the Power.

Logain tells her that he has bonded her and she breaks down and cries. Logain also bonds Gabrelle in the same fashion. We find that the bond allows Logain to control the Aes Sedai in a similar way to the Oath Rod, functioning much differently than the Warder bond from women. He burns them, effectively protecting Toveine from retribution in the Black Tower.

Logain and Gabrelle become lovers, but rather than Logain being the one to initiate as Toveine assumed, Gabrelle attempted for four days to bed Logain for him to finally agree. They speak of the new Two Rivers boys in the Black Tower, as well as the private lessons that Taim gives for select men loyal to him. Welyn Kajima reports to Logain that Taim is back from Cairhien and has posted new names on the deserter's list and Logain leaves with his followers, telling Gabrelle and Toveine not to touch his papers.

As Logain is riding with Toveine and Gabrelle, he is approached by Atal Mishraille, one of the men loyal to Taim and receiving private lessons. Logain rides back to the village and prepares to leave.

Gabrelle and Toveine agree to stay close to Logain. They both feel determination through their bond with Logain and that he feels as though he is riding to war. Logain, along with a party of his followers and their bonded Aes Sedai, arrive in Caemlyn. Logain meets with Davram Bashere and they agree to find Rand together. Logain then arrives with his party in Cairhien still looking for Rand.
